Choosing the Right Pediatrician for Your Child

The Right Pediatric Doctor for Your Child

Dr. Julie Tomberlin, a fantastic pediatrician, directs her thriving pediatric practice in Mansfield, TX. You, your child, and our doctor must trust each other. We must be able to communicate and feel at ease and comfortable with each other. Our doctor wants you to know the importance of choosing the right pediatric doctor for your child.

Why Is It Important To Choose the Right Doctor for Your Child?

Choosing the right practitioner for your child is a serious matter that you should not take lightly. Our doctor and you must be on the same page regarding childhood medical care.

Our child healthcare policies follow the guidelines outlined in the CDC recommendations for well-child and sick visits, required immunizations, milestone monitoring, and growth and development.

We would love to sit and chat and get to know you and your child. We would be honored to care for your child with top-quality care until adulthood.

  • Well-child visits ensure that we can monitor your child as they enter each important milestone and meet the skills that we expect at each milestone. These visits help us catch physical, emotional, and mental problems early. We can prevent more serious problems and start treatment early. We give our parents a schedule of well-child visits when due.
  • If your child has a chronic illness like asthma, anxiety, or ADHD, we require you to set needed appointments so we can help manage the chronic condition, monitor the child's progress, and make medication adjustments and changes as needed for the child's benefit.
  • Immunizations are all proven safe. The minor short-term side effects from vaccinations do not last long and are a small price to pay to ensure your child does not contract any major childhood illness that could have life-long effects.

If parents do not vaccinate their children and protect them from disease, a once-prevalent disease may return. Our practice follows the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for the recommended vaccination schedule we give you.

  • Antibiotics are appropriately used and never overused. You must make a sick visit appointment for your child, and we will assess the need for an antibiotic. We will not automatically phone in an antibiotic without seeing your child.
